General School Information

Current students and Memorial Lutheran Church members begin re-enrolling every January. Applications from other prospective families are received beginning on February 1. The non-refundable application fee needs to be paid to reserve a place for your child. Students are enrolled throughout the school year provided there is space available. School begins on September 2, 2008.

Memorial Lutheran Church established Memorial Lutheran School in 1980. We have programs for infants through the eighth grade.  Our school offers a challenging Christian and Classical curriculum that includes the following:

  •  Daily religious instruction; Weekly chapel
  • Saxon Math Program K-8 (Honors math in 7th-8th grades)
  • Saxon Phonics Program in Early Childhood & Elementary
  • Language Arts: Shurley Grammar, Spelling Connections, New Moves Writing
  • Geography: Rand McNally Online Geography Curriculum; History: Veritas Press, History Fair; National Geography Bee
  • Fall Drama (middle school) and Spring Musical (elementary grades)
  • Logic classes
  • Computer Lab: Pre-K - 8 Computer Technology Curriculum
  • Science: Harcourt Publishing Hands-on Science Curriculum; Science Lab (middle school), Science Fair grades 2-8
  • Art, Music, Band (required for 5, elective 6-8), Orchestra and Choir (elective)
  • Spanish - 2nd - 8th required
  • Latin - 3rd gr. - 8th gr. required
  • Physical Education PreK - 8 (gymnasium and large fenced playground); Field Day each May
  • Inter-school Athletics 4 th-8th Grades soccer, volleyball, basketball, softball and baseball
  • 7th and 8th grade trips
  • National Junior Honor Society 7th and 8th grades
  • After-school activities to include Kid Fit, Dance, Karate and Etiquette (all at extra costs)
  • Field Trips throughout the school year
  • Summer Program with activities to include swimming, arts and crafts, Vacation Bible School, computer, cooking, sports clinics and field trips. Summer information is available in April each year. You must register separately for this program that runs from beginning of June to mid August.
  • Hot lunch with beverage available during the school year
  • Before and After School Childcare Facility is open from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. (Infants 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
  • Normal School Hours 8:15 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. for all classess

Admission Requirements:

1. Registration Fee (non-refundable) turned in with application and enrollment agreement Fee includes text books, workbooks, materials, and standardized testing.

2. Birth Certificate and Immunization Records: Please provide to the school office on or before the first day of attendance it is mandatory that we have these records before your child can start.

3. Report Cards/Testing Information For grades 1-8, parents must provide previous test scores and report cards upon application.
Monthly tuition is paid through FACTS Tuition Management or may be paid in full directly to the school office by cash, check, or charge. A 5% discount is given if tuition is paid in full by September 2, 2008.
