Missions in Nicaragua
Memorial Lutheran Church has assisted in the funding and construction of classrooms and the Martin Luther Cathedral. Team members have spent time in the farming community of Rancheria, a refugee village of Santa Patricia, and the city of Chichigalpa.
Children’s Bible school has been held and music classes have led by Cantor Janet Muth. The team members teaching and assisting with these lessons have been Memorial members or other people who have come on the trip through someone at Memorial.
As a direct result of the generosity of the Memorial Lutheran Church contributed to all of the mission trips, over one thousand people have received medical care; pastors and laypeople have provided testimony and hope to people with little reason to hope; two church buildings and a pastor’s house have been constructed, as well as the classrooms and Martin Lutheran Cathedral. Most importantly, hundreds of children have been able to attend school and receive catechism instruction.
