"Go, therefore, and make disciples..."
Christ Jesus, after His resurrection but before His ascension to power, said "Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things." (Luke 24:46-48) Memorial is part of many ventures, some old and some new, in which the Good News of salvation in Jesus is proclaimed. Here are just a few:
Nicaragua
Memorial has a long standing relationship with the Lutheran Church in Nicaragua. Each year, for many years now, members of Memorial have traveled to the cities northwest of Managua to teach and to build among our brothers and sisters in Christ. We normally stay at the Lutheran seminary in Chinandega and travel to one of the surrounding cities to work.
Westfield House
The Evangelical Lutheran Church of England (
ELCE) has a small seminary in Cambridge that serves not only the Lutherans of the United Kingdom, but also students from Africa, Asia and exchange students from North America. Memorial travels frequently to England to help maintain this great place of ministry training.
Radio Ministry
Pastor Murray produces a half-hour weekly radio program called "Dying to Live" which is broadcast on Houston's KKHT 100.7 FM. It can be heard each Sunday night at 7:00 PM, and is rebroadcast during the week on
piratechristianradio.com. A
podcast of the show is also available. Pastor St-Onge and MLC member Diane Lambertson also serve as frequent hosts for the KKHT call-in show "Engaging Truth" sponsored by
Evangelical Life Ministries. The show can be heard on KKHT Sundays at 7:30 PM, and is also available as a
podcast.
Outreach to the Blind
Starting in the summer of 2010 Memorial will begin a monthly outreach to the visually impaired in our community. MLC will be hosting a lunch on the 4th Saturday of the month from 11 to 1. For more information, email our
