You Shall See the Kingdom
In Matthew 16:28 Jesus tells his disciples that they would see the arrival of His kingdom. Most people are baffled by this promise because they presume that arrival is on judgment day. Instead, Jesus means that His kingdom comes in His ministry and especially in His subsequent crucifixion. To see the Lord crucified is to see the coming of His kingdom. We too see that kingdom come among us when the Word of the cross is proclaimed among us and Jesus Christ is portrayed among us as crucified (Galatians 3:1). This is why Lutheran churches have traditionally had crucifixes prominently displayed in them. We preach Christ crucified (1Co 1:23), so did Jesus, and so did the apostles. When we see Christ on the cross we see Christ's kingdom coming among us.

Telugu Ministry Update and Needs
Dear Members of Memorial:
It is my joy and privilege to inform you that Telugu Ministry is progressing well at Memorial. Our Telugu community is steadily growing and currently I have the opportunity to interact with many Telugu people, Indian Christians, Hindus, and people from other nationalities. A couple of weeks ago, we baptized three by the power of the Spirit. Baptisms and conversions are the ongoing work of our Telugu mission.  As our community is growing, our needs are also growing in many areas.  Our financial needs increased this year when compared to last year. Currently we are seeking ways to meet the budget for 2016. To meet the budget in 2016, Telugu Ministry needs $45,000. I encourage all our members to contribute generously toward this vital mission at Memorial, so that we may continue this work among Telugu people in Houston. I also want to seek different ways to raise money for Telugu Ministry. If you have any potential ideas for funding and resources, please share your ideas with me and the other pastors. I really appreciate your prayers and continue to request your prayers and support for this vital mission among Telugu people. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Rich blessing on you and your families!
Pastor Sagar Pilli
