From the Pastor
The Conversion of St. Paul
This Sunday we commemorate the event known as the Conversion of St. Paul.  Prior to his calling as Apostle, Paul was known as Saul and was a persecutor of the Church.  Saul was an up-and-comer among the Pharisees.  He was being fast tracked for promotion due to his intelligence and zealousness for what he perceived to be the truth.  Then something happened to Saul.  He met Jesus on the road to Damascus and the falsehoods that he held were destroyed.  He came face to face with the truth that the good news being preached by the Apostles was not a lie drawing people away from the truth, but it was the truth itself.  The truth caused Saul to give up on his former ways.  The truth caused Paul to take up his cross and follow the Lord.  What is the truth?  It is...He is Jesus Christ, the one who was crucified and resurrected for the forgiveness of all sin

Ladies, Mark Your Calendars!
The annual Ladies Retreat will be 10-12 April 2015. Accommodations are two side-by-side beach houses at Surfside Beach, TX. Our speaker will be Rev. Brent Kuhlman, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Murdock, NE. He will speak on "The Lutheran Reformation: Dr. Luther Nailed It!" Dr. Luther's discovery of the Gospel/Justification by grace through faith alone, and how this changed the teaching of salvation, baptism, absolution, the Lord's Supper, preaching, and the Christian life of good works, and why all of that is so important, not only for us Lutherans, but for every sinner with whom we life. Registration will begin in February. For more information contact Noreen Linke.
If you have suggestions about things that you'd like to see in the Memorial Messenger, please let the office staff know. We would love to hear from you.
