Rev.
J. Bart Day
(Associate Pastor and Headmaster)
has served MLC&S for nine years, after having been ordained
here on June 22, 1997. He especially enjoys working with youth and
young families. Pastor Day and his wife, Julie, have been blessed
with four boys - Jonah, Seth, Caleb and Jotham. Pastor Day is an
avid bird hunter and an accomplished vocalist and musician. He holds
the degrees of B.A. from Concordia University, Seward,
cune.edu,,
NE and M.Div. from Concordia Seminary,
csl.edu,
St. Louis, and is currently working toward an MA in Liturgical Studies
from Notre Dame University, nd.edu.
He is the recent editor of two collections of essays (Festschrift)
presented to professors who have influenced his life and ministry,
Teach Me Thy Way, O Lord, published
in honor of The Rev. Dr. Glen Zweck, Tutor of Westfield Theological

Janet
Muth (Cantor/Music and Choir Director) is
the Cantor of Memorial Lutheran Church & School. Cantor
is the churchs name for a director of parish music. She was
raised in Anchorage, Alaska. Prior to serving in Texas, her professional
service to the church has been in the Midwest, primarily in Michigan
and Indiana. Cantor Muth holds the degrees of Bachelor of Science
in Music Education and Church Music from Concordia College, Portland
and Master of Music in Organ Performance and Church Music from Indiana
University. She has served The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod as
a member of the Commission on Worship and on the Hymnody Committee
for the Lutheran Service Book. In addition to organ, Cantor Muth
plays a number of other instruments including viola, violin, and
guitar. She also has served the church as a workshop leader and
childrens choir clinician and performs as an organ recitalist.
She also serves the church as organist, adult and children's choir
director and handbell director. (Click

LouAnn
Webber (Director of Admissions) worked at Memorial Lutheran School
previously as the school office administrator from 1995-2004. She
left MLS to go to Lutheran High North where she worked until June
of 2007 as their Director of Admissions. We are glad to have LouAnn
back at MLS. She and her husband Rob have two children, Amy, a 2004
graduate of Lutheran High North, and Matthew, a graduate of the class
of 2008. Both are also MLS graduates. LouAnn attended Concordia University,
Austin and has her certification in Fund Development from Rice University.
She is a member of the Houston Association of Independent Schools
Association-Admissions Directors (HAIS-AD), and a long time member
of Memorial Lutheran Church. The entire family loves to travel, both

Linda
Noyd (Early Childhood Director & Pre-Kindergarten) attended
Concordia University in Austin, Texas, and graduated from Concordia
University in Seward, Nebraska with a B.A. in Elementary Education.
She has 26 years of teaching experience, and joined the Memorial Lutheran
School faculty in 2002. Prior to teaching 1st grade here, she taught
kindergarten at St. Philip Lutheran. She is a member of Memorial Lutheran

Eleanor
Andree (Secretary) is retired
after 45 years with Diagnostic Clinic of Houston where she was an
administrative assistant. She has earned a BA from the University
of St. Thomas and a MBA from Our Lady of the Lake University. She
is an active member of Memorial Lutheran Church and sings in the choir.
Her hobbies are voice, piano, and dancing.

Joetta (Jo)
Lodholz (Secretary) joins the Memorial Lutheran School office staff serving as afternoon secretary. Joetta prefers to be known as Jo and comes to our office as a long time member of Memorial Lutheran Church. As a member of the church Jo has served on a variety of committees and offices including the Lutheran Women in Mission which serves the congregation, the Missouri Synod and other Missions. She currently is the President of the LWIM and also sings in the choir. In her earlier years, Jo had 4 children in the school and is familiar with Lutheran education. Michael
Staub (Band Director) has been teaching
for 4 years and is a member of Memorial Lutheran Church and a member
of the choir. He received his B.S. degree in 2002 from Concordia University
in Seward, Nebraska. In addition to leading our band students here
at Memorial, he directs the bands at other Lutheran schools including
Our Savior, Immanuel, Bethany, and Lutheran High North. (Click

Debbie
Jeffers (Resource and Technology)
was born and raised in New Jersey. She moved to Texas in 1974 and
became a member of Memorial Lutheran Church. After starting a family,
she returned to the University of Houston and received her BS in
Elementary Education in 1989. Since then she has added a certification
in Composite Science for grades 6-12. She has been teaching science
in the public schools for the past 14 years. She is an active member
of Memorial Lutheran Church and is a member of the choir.

Belinda
J. Hall (Library and Art) was
born in Colorado and grew up in Iowa. She graduated from Lutheran
High North here in Houston. She attended Concordia University in Seward,
Nebraska, where she earned her Lutheran teaching degree. She taught
third and fourth grade at St. John Lutheran School in Houston for
one and a half years. She then taught second grade at Immanuel Lutheran
School in Giddings, Texas for three years. Belinda has been at Memorial
for five years teaching Pre-K and Preschool. This year she is teaching
Pre-K as well as art in kindergarten through eighth grade. She is
a member of Memorial Lutheran Church and is a member of the hand bell

Mary
Vidal (Spanish) is the Spanish teacher
here at Memorial Lutheran School. This is her second year to teach
at MLS. She's originally from Cuba but she has lived in Houston
for 26 years. She graduated from Stratford High School and has completed
two semesters at the University of Houston. She has a 13 year old

Cindy
Del Monte (Latin & Logic) is
a 1976 graduate of Geneva College with a B.S. in Business Administration,
majoring in Computer Science/Business Data Processing. Mrs. Del
Monte earned a diploma in pastoral theology from the University
of St. Thomas in December 2000. She is presently completing a master's
degree in theological studies at the University of St. Thomas /
St. Mary's Seminary. She also has completed doctorate-level studies
in writing at Rice University. Mrs. Del Monte previously held a
number of information technology positions in various corporations
and served as a manager of consulting services for Deloitte &
Touche. Mrs. Del Monte began teaching at Memorial Lutheran School
as a substitute teacher in 1999, a preschool teacher in 2000, and
a pre-kindergarten teacher from 2001 through 2005. She has served
the community since 1980 as a 20-year volunteer at The Lighthouse
of Houston during which time she was nominated and named runner-up
for the Mayor of Houston's Volunteer of the Year award. From 1998
until 2001, Mrs. Del Monte served Memorial Lutheran School as president
of the Parent-Teacher League. (Click

Esther
Luzbet (Infants) was born in Lima,
Peru. She has experience working with children in Montessori schools
and church nurseries. She is bilingual in English and Spanish and
has attended many continuing educational seminars. Her love of God
is what led her to work with children. She believes that a child's
early years are the most important and she is committed to providing
the best care possible. She has worked at Memorial Lutheran School
for 10 years. Ms. Esther has a daughter and a grandson.

Cindy
Hewitt (Infants) was born and raised
in Houston, Texas and graduated from Elsik High School. She has
had experience working with children (infants through school age)
for 15 years. She also has 7 years experience working with children
with disabilities. She is presently attending classes to become
a member of Memorial Lutheran Church. Her daughter attends Lutheran High North. Email:

Clarissa
Arriaga (Early Start Transition) graduated from the University
of Houston in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood
Education. She has been at Memorial Lutheran School for three years

Hilda
Kunz (Early Start 1)
is a member of Memorial Lutheran Church and is active in Lutheran
Women in Mission (LWIM) at Memorial.
She has worked at Memorial Lutheran
School for 15 years, 7 of those years include teaching Early Start
2's and Pre-School 3's. She has also taught Spanish for grades

Elizabeth
Wetterau (Early Start 2) is a new addition to Memorial's staff.
She did some substitute teaching for Memorial toward the end of last
year, worked in Memorial's infant program this past summer, and will
be Memorial's Early Start 2 teacher. Elizabeth was raised in Whittier,
California. She has a certificate in medical transcription and is
presently working toward her teaching degree at Houston Community
College. She has two children, both married, and two grandchildren.
Elizabeth attends Memorial Lutheran Church whre she is actively involved
in the LWIM, Primetimers, Pep Club, and the greeting committee. She
also enjoys needlepoint, reading, walking her dog, and spending time
with her granddaughters who live in Houston. Few people know, but
she is an accomplished folk and clog dancer.

Anna
Kavugha (Pre-School) is from Tanzania-East
Africa and speaks Swahili and English. She graduated at Chang’ombe
Teachers College in Tanzania and Houston Community College in Early
Childhood Development. Presently she is attending the University of
Houston. She has been working at Memorial Lutheran School for 20 years
and previously taught in Tanzania for 7 years. She is a member of

Emily
Drees (Pre-Kindergarten) graduated
from Concordia University in Austin in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts
degree in Elementary Education specializing in reading. She also received
a Lutheran Teacher Diploma and an Early Childhood Endorsement. She
joined the MLS faculty in August 2002. She previously taught at Trinity
Lutheran School in Waco, Our Savior Lutheran School in Austin and
St. Mark Lutheran School in Houston. She is an active member of Memorial

Tiffany
Engler (Kindergarten) Tiffany
Engler graduated from Concordia University at Austin in 2004 with
a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. She has taught
3rd grade here at Memorial the past 3 years, with this year being
her first teaching Kindergarten. Tiffany also coaches girls volleyball
and basketball, and is a member of Memorial Lutheran Church. She
will begin work on her Masters in Early Childhoon Education from
Concordia this year as well.

Dusty
Drosche (1st grade) graduated from Concordia University at Austin
in 2004 with a BA in Elementary Education and an Early Childhood Specialization.
This is his 3rd year teaching. He previously taught 1st grade in New
Orleans, Louisiana. Before moving to New Orleans, Mr. Drosche and
his wife were both members of Memorial Lutheran Church and he served
Memorial as a teacher aide for Kindergarten and 1st grade as well
as a Summer Program teacher for 3 years. Mr. Drosche, his wife, Amy,
and their newborn son, Braeden, are happy to be back at Memorial Lutheran

Amy
Keilman (2nd grade) earned her Bachelor's degree
at Concordia University at Austin. In her five years of teaching
experience she has taught kindergarten, first grade, and second
grade in Lutheran Schools throughout Texas. She enjoys teaching
second grade the most because there is so much they can do and learn
as independent learners! She
is a member of Memorial Lutheran Church.

Jess
Thacker (4th grade) originally
from Omaha, Nebraska, graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education
from Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska in 1992, where he met
and married his wife, Angie. He taught 4th grade at a Lutheran school
in Leavenworth, Kansas for 13 years. He taught 2nd grade in a public
school last year. Jess enjoys coaching, fishing, building, and just
working with his hands, however, his true love is in the Christian
classroom with kids, and is he is very excited to be part of the Memorial

Sarah
Martin (5th grade) is a Kentucky native who received her Bachelor's
degree from Western Kentucky University. She completed her Texas
teaching certification through Tomball College. This year she is
finishing her Lutheran Teaching Colloquy. She has three years teaching
experience and her favorite subject to teach is science. Mrs. Martin
is married with two children, Ruth (5) and Daniel (1) and is a member

Fredenburg (6th grade) was born in
Cleveland, Ohio and attended Valparaiso University, in Valparaiso,
Indiana with a major in Elementary Education and received her Colloquy

Zimmerman (7th grade and Language Arts)
was born in Western Pennsylvania and went to college at Concordia
in Seward, Nebraska. She taught in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania before
coming to Houston. She has been at Memorial Lutheran School for 14

Ted
Nelson (8th grade and Science and History)
was born in Oakland, California. He received an A.A. degree from Concordia
College, in Austin in 1968. He also received his B.A. degree from
Concordia Teachers College, River Forest, Illinois in 1970. Mr. Nelson
taught 7 years at Zion Lutheran School in Walburg, Texas, 16 years
at Pilgrim Lutheran in Houston, Texas and has taught at Memorial Lutheran
School since 1994. He is the Athletic Director of the school and coaches
volleyball, basketball, softball and baseball. He is a member of Memorial
