What We Teach at Memorial Lutheran School

Bible and Luther's Small Catechism taught at all levels, Weekly Chapel

Open Court reading by SRA (grades K-4), Novel reading (grades 5-8)

Saxon Phonics (PK- 2nd)

Comprehensive language arts program with an emphasis on: New Moves Writing curriculum, Shurley Method Grammar, Spelling Connections and Wordly Wise Vocabulary

Saxon Math (Algebra and Pre-Algebra in Middle School)

Veritas Press with historical time-lines for each class; History Fair

Web-based Rand McNally Geography & Students' World Almanac; National Geography Bee participation

Harcourt Science (Hands-on science at all levels), IPC, Science Fair

Competitive athletics are available for 5th – 8th grades and include volleyball, soccer, basketball, baseball, softball. MLS is a member of the HLAC (Houston Lutheran Athletic Conference). Some sports may include 4th graders. Boys in 6th - 8th grade may participate in the Junior High Football program organized by Lutheran High North.

Kid Fit sports program for PS-4th grade; Ballet and Tap; Karate; Cub Scouts/Boy Scouts; American Heritage Girls

Private music lessons for Orchestra (violin, viola, bass), Private Lessons for Instrumental Band are also available
