CONGRATULATIONS to Memorial Lutheran Church and School Senior Bible Bowl team. Team members Andrew Coulter, Claire Coulter, Michael DelMonte, and Jack Ogden defeated a tough team from Lutheran South Academy for third place in the city tournament. We also congratulate alternates Rebecca Volkers and William Coulter who were called upon to play in earlier matches and were there to cheer the team on at the final day! The “Bible Bowl” is a competition in which students of Lutheran schools in the Houston area match their knowledge of Bible heroes, heroines, stories, and Bible verses. Memorial Lutheran Church and School has been involved with this competition for many years. Team members from both church and Sunday School are eligible to compete, grades 7 and 8 (and younger) for the senior team, and grades 5 and 6 (and younger) for the junior team. The Junior Team is now practicing for its matches. Team members Rebecca Volkers, William Coulter, Paul Broughton, Naomi and Hannah Wick, and Chabris Burke are looking forward to pitting their wits against other Houston-area Lutheran teams. Be sure to catch all of the exciting matches every Saturday morning on radio station KHCB, 105.7 FM, at 9:30 AM. They are broadcast (via tape) all year round.
