What is Memorial Lutheran Church?
Memorial is a Community...
...gathered together by our one God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, in Holy Baptism,
...taught together by God's Word, the inerrant Holy Scriptures, and
...regularly receiving Christ's body and blood with the bread and wine of Holy Communion.
We do these things for the forgiveness of our sins and to receive God's free gift of eternal life in Jesus Christ. We offer this gift freely to everyone!
What Do the People of Memorial Believe?
Our congregation confesses the faith taught by the Holy Spirit through the prophets and apostles and recorded in Holy Scripture, our only rule and norm for our faith and for our life. We are absolutely grounded in the Gospel of Jesus Christ - that Christ died for the sins of the world that all people might be saved by faith in His name alone. We believe that faith is a gift given by God's grace alone, not something earned, given as a reward, or the result of a decision made by a man or woman (Ephesians 2:8-9). We believe firmly that God offers us forgiveness of sins and eternal life in concrete ways, through the hearing of His Word, through Holy Baptism, and in Holy Communion.
We accept the Apostles', Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds as completely true summaries of the Bible's teachings on God, salvation, and eternal life. We also believe the entire 16th century Book of Concord to be an entirely truthful representation of the Bible's teachings on many other matters of faith and life.
How Do the People of Memorial Show Their Faith?
As you look around this site, you will see the people of Memorial gathering in fellowship, listening to bible studies, serving neighbors near and far, supporting the spread of the Gospel in women's groups and men's groups, teaching children and youth, sharing their faith in music, and most importantly gathering together around God's Word and His Sacraments to be refreshed and renewed together.
Some Pictures of Our New Facilities
Memorial expanded its facilities in 2008 with the addition of a new fellowship hall, designed for bible class, school concerts, dinners, and receptions, a new commons area, an early childhood wing, youth room, new offices, music suite, church library and meeting room.
